If you love beach walks, sea air, and delicious food, there’s something irresistible about dining where the ocean is part of the ambiance. At Masala Cove, Avalon Beach gives us more than backdrop — it inspires menu, mood, and experience.
Key features of Indian food by the sea:
Seafood meets spice: Using ocean-fresh fish, prawns, and crab, paired with coastal spice blends, coconut, tamarind etc.
Light preparations: Curries and grilled items balanced with cooling yoghurt, salad, citrus. Keeps things fresh in warm, beachside settings.
Outdoor or beach-facing dining: Maximizing natural light, sea breeze, relaxed tables — letting diners feel part of the setting.
Relaxed but refined: Casual enough for lunch, elevated enough for dinner — Indian food by the sea is both. If your search is “best Indian restaurant near me Avalon Beach”, suggestions will include Masala Cove, but you’ll also see local classics. What sets us apart is our blend of tradition + innovation + setting.

We visited Avalon Beach last weekend and stumbled upon Masala Cove after a long coastal walk what a find! The ocean breeze, the smell of spices, and that seafood curry made it one of the best Indian dining experiences we’ve had in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It’s rare to find an Indian restaurant that feels so beachside and relaxed yet serves food this refined. Definitely my new favourite spot for Indian food near Avalon and Palm Beach!
